Logo Reus Espais Vius"Reus Espais Vius" is a city project that wants to contribute to the strategic revitalization of commerce, with a specific focus on providing solutions to those areas of the city that have a greater number of empty premises.

This project begins its action in the Ravals Robuster and Sant Pere through a strategy for the reactivation of empty commercial spaces whose main objective is to position the two neighborhoods, turning them into benchmarks of a consumption model with a positive social impact and environmental, which offers a sustainable shopping alternative in the city of Reus.

The strategic revitalization of the two suburbs is based on the methodology of reactivating empty commercial spaces "Spaces in Transition", created and designed by bbintervencions, strategic consultancy winner of the 2019 National Craft Award in the "Impulse" category for the result of the project Espais en Transició Vic, which has reactivated 22 empty premises on Carrer de la Riera in this city, turning them into shops, workshops and other unique and artistic businesses.

The methodology consists of four main phases in the reactivation process:

  • Identify and define the strategy based on the area to intervene.
  • Emphasize the empty space, through temporary proposals.
  • Negotiate and mediate with all the agents involved in the reactivation process. 
  • Implement new strategic businesses through the call and support of entrepreneurs.

Different actions have been designed to implement each of the phases. The first action was made visible during most of July 2021, and has been participative in nature, with the intention of connecting the project with the citizens of Reus.

Reus Espais Vius is a project promoted by the Department of Business and Employment of the Reus City Council, as part of one of its lines of work: looking for innovative actions to give some of the streets a more attractive image when faced with the presence of locals voids and thus enable the activation and opening of new commercial spaces and the Economic and Social Reactivation Plan Reactivem Reus.
