The opera of friends
Symphony
When music is worth it... it can't just be for a few
Simfonova has always shown in her concerts the theory that access to opera is within the reach of anyone who has a minimal interest in enjoying it, and this is what L'ópera dels amics, her fifth production, also tries to show. The core of the concert is the interpretation of the operatic fragments that most excite and please five popular and well-known characters from the entire audience who justify the reason for their operatic preferences, and explain the personal circumstances that lead them to choose those fragments and not others. The five protagonists of L'ópera dels amics are: Carles Sans, Josep Roca, Helena Garcia Melero, Toni Clapés and Boris Izaguirre.
Rigoletto or Il trovatore, by G. Verdi, Madama Butterfly, Tosca, or La Bohème, by Puccini, Tannhäuser, by Richard Wagner, Carmen, by Bizet, Cavalleria rusticana, by Mascagni, or Samsó i Dalila, by Saint-Saëns, are some of the operas chosen by the 5 characters and performed in the concert. With a script prepared and presented from the stage by Marcel Gorgori, with 4 of the best solo singers in the country, Carles Cosías (tenor), Laura del Río (soprano), Toni Marsol (baritone) and Laura Vila (mezzo-soprano), with the SIMFONOVA Choir, and with the Barcelona Philarmonia Symphony Orchestra, formed by 60 musicians, and created and directed by maestro Daniel Antolí There is no better way to instill a taste for opera and increase interest in approaching it, than to listen to how characters whom we admire and respect, and who, in the opera, are the audience, like all of us, talk about it, passionately.
