Next Thursday, October 2, at 7 pm, the book by Bienve Moya, Tocats de festa. Espai de convivència, escola de participación citudana, will be presented at the Archive (C/ St Antoni M. Claret, 3). The event will be attended by the author, Rafael Català (editor) and Ferran Sugranyes, from Carrutxa.

Born in Vilanova i la Geltrú, Bienve Moya has been linked to the world of theatre, festivals and popular culture for many years. He was the initiator of the Xarxa de Teatres Públics de Catalunya and promoted the Trapezi circus fair between Vilanova and Reus. He worked at Barcelona City Council, in the years of the recovery of popular festivals and the appearance of events such as the correfoc. Author of books such as La festa a Catalunya (1995) or Una mà de sants (2011), among others, in Tocats de festa he proposes a reflection on concepts such as traditional which does not necessarily have an old or historicist aspect, or popular which does not only correspond to what is multitudinous, offering a synthesis on the evolution of festivals in contemporary Catalonia, on festivals and leisure, festive space and time, in a present of change.

The event is organized by Carrutxa with the collaboration of the Reus Municipal Archive and the Baix Camp Regional Archive.
