IM Reus Culture

The Municipal Institute of Reus Culture was born in 2017 (agreement of the plenary session of 7 April) as a result of the merger of the Municipal Institute of Cultural Action (IMAC) and the Municipal Institute of Museums of Reus (IMMR) in a single body with the aim of adapting structures and bodies to new needs and optimizing resources.
The IM Reus Cultura is in charge of promoting the festivals and traditions, as well as the divulgation actions that derive from them. Its objectives include the promotion, enhancement and organization of citizen initiatives in the cultural field.
At the same time, it is the direct interlocutor with the city's cultural entities, with which it collaborates in the organization of events, establishes collaboration agreements and also provides subsidies.
IM Reus Cultura manages the municipal museums of Reus and in this area, tasks of documentation, conservation, restoration and didactic dissemination related to the historical, artistic and cultural heritage are carried out.
Likewise, IM Reus Cultura undertakes the organization of the major festivals of Reus, Sant Pere and Misericordia, and actively participates in the rest of the cultural events that the city experiences, such as Carnival, Sant Joan and Sant Jordi.

Casa Rull was commissioned by the notary Pere Rull i Trilla to Domènech i Montaner in a period of great expansion of Modernism. For the first time in Reus, the trace of appears on a stone balcony coup whip characteristic of Art Nouveau. Also for the first time in Reus, brick, a material reserved for industrial constructions, is used for a house. Other ornamental motifs of medieval inspiration bear the modernist stamp of Domènech; dragons, symbols related to the owner and his profession such as the feather and scales, as well as, the heraldic shield and crenellations finishing the facade.
