LGBTI community

The local administration, which represents all citizens, must ensure the rights of all people. For this reason, policies must be created that defend the communities and collectives whose rights may be violated when rigid boundaries prevail between what it means to be a man and to be a woman and heterosexuality as normality.

LGBTI policies

The LGBTI policies implemented by the Reus City Council, in accordance with the II Municipal Plan for Sexual and Gender Diversity Policies, have as main objectives:

  • Get to know the realities of LGBTI people in the city.
  • Visualize the diversity of gender identities and sexual options.
  • Work for the prevention of discrimination (LGBTI-phobias).
  • Attending to people who suffer or have suffered discrimination due to sexual orientation or gender identity and the people around them.
