Municipal Council of Culture

The Municipal Culture Council is a channel for citizen participation within the municipal organization thanks to which a regular meeting space is set up between citizens, entities and the City Council to collect and debate, on an ongoing basis, opinions and proposals on municipal actions around culture in this case.

The regulation initially approved by the Municipal Council of March 18, 2022 regulates the functions, organization and internal functioning of the Municipal Council of Culture.

Functions

The functions of the Municipal Council are to generate debate and opinion and to promote consensus in municipal policies on culture; prepare a biannual report on the culture of the city; draw up opinions and formulate recommendations in matters of culture and cultural policy on their own initiative or at the request of the City Council's departments; draw up a preliminary report in cases of the creation of new bodies or municipal cultural facilities, normative and regulatory municipal projects that have an impact on major cultural or artistic policy issues, or the appointment of those responsible for municipal cultural facilities; update the City's Strategic Culture Plan on a daily basis; participate in grant processes in the field of culture; to be part of juries in the cultural field and, finally, any other function entrusted to him by the City Council.
