Municipal Council of the Elderly
The Municipal Council for the Elderly was approved by Plenary in 2003. It is chaired by the Citizens' Relations department and is made up of a representative of each municipal political group, a representative of each of the majority unions, and representatives of the organizations registered in the municipal register of citizen organizations and citizens who develop activities linked to the elderly, as well as some individual members who are and work for this group with the purpose of accommodating the maximum concerns of the group of elderly people to have the maximum representation in the municipal proposals of Reus.
It includes three working committees:
Commission for Culture, Festivities and Sport
The objective pursued by this commission is to work with the projects of the different cultural, sports and popular festival areas of the city, at the same time as proposing new ones and giving a voice to the entities that participate in these contents. It also includes the preparation of the Week of the Elderly where different festive events coexist, activity samples and varied workshops focused on promoting active and healthy ageing. This commission is currently made up of fifteen members representing organizations, associations and political groups.
Committee on Inclusion and Healthy Aging
Its objective is to give a space to the elderly in society by contributing their potential and human journey. This commission is made up of fifteen members representing entities, associations and political groups.
Grievances Commission
With the aim of capturing all those spaces in the city that need rethinking or accessibility. This commission is made up of six members representing entities, associations and political groups.
