Nutrisalt

The City Council of Reus promotes the PECT Nutrisalt with the involvement of the R+D+I agents of the territory: the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), the URV Foundation, EURECAT and the Institute of Research and Agro-Food Technology (IRTA) . The PECT NUTRISALT is a project aimed at the transformation and dynamism of the agri-food sector around innovation, health, the green economy and internationalization that is part of the territorial specialization policy of the region defined throughout the last decade It also has the collaboration of the business sector, especially from the AINS Nutrition and Health Cluster, and from different town councils in the countryside. With an action plan that has as its horizon 2020, it has a budget of 1.924.619 euros, co-financed at 50% with funds from the (PO) FEDER de Catalunya and with 25% by the Provincial Council of Tarragona.
Performances
With an action plan that has as its horizon 2020, the PECT NUTRISALT proposes three axes of work within which specific operations are structured:
- Axis 1. Approach technologies to give added value to local food products and the well-being of consumers: Add value to own and local products; and Create new food products.
- Axis 2. Ensure the non-toxicity of products with the creation of technological support platforms for the local human and animal nutrition industry in ecotoxicity and food safety: Ensure the non-toxicity of food; Reduce the impact on the environment; and Provide the territory with support structures for companies
- Axis 3. Plan future regional development and support for the competitiveness of companies and agri-food products: Facilitate commercialization and internationalization and the creation of new companies; and Promote product co-creation spaces and new business models.
