The protection of public safety in Reus is guaranteed through several police and emergency services. The Guàrdia Urbana is the body that has been granted municipal powers in matters of security, traffic, assistance, citizen attention and mediation and conflict resolution, but it collaborates with the bodies of the Generalitat de Catalunya, such as the Mossos d'Esquadra , the Fire Department and Civil Protection.

Both the Fire Brigade, the Mossos d'Esquadra, and the civil protection teams are coordinated from the emergency management center of Catalonia, 112, installed on the T-11 road between Reus and Tarragona. In addition to coordinating the agents involved, 112 centralizes emergency calls.
