Since the construction of the Municipal Olympic Pavilion, Reus has hosted several national and international sporting events. This fact linked to the prestige and projection of the city's clubs, the climate, communications, tourist interest and services, means that the city has the potential to become a center of reference in the reception of sports groups and organizations of various origins and a wide range of sports.

In this sense, Reus has established itself as a sports tourism destination.
