Reus City Council promotes gender equality in the city. The main strategy is to combat the most structural aspects of inequality and sexism. To achieve this goal, several actions are taken: Equality policies, awareness raising, prevention with activities that promote the empowerment of women and attention to women who have experienced or are experiencing a situation of male violence. Ultimately, we need a more equitable society where the needs of all sectors of the population are met, which is why we work in a coordinated and transversal way with the different departments of Reus City Council, civil society and other institutions. It is about promoting new ways of doing things and relating with a special sensitivity.

There are different services and other municipal resources aimed at women:
