Carles Pitarch has adapted Pep Macaya's latest novel, "No em toqueu els picarols" into a theatrical script, together with the writer from Reus, to bring to the stage this peculiar story from kilometer 0 about the mischievous and crazy priest Carles Francesc Macaya Prats, also known as at mossèn Dallonses.
Carles Francesc Macaya Prats, “chaplain for ever”... Now he is being sought and captured for eternity. He has been seen lately accompanied by a squad of illustrious martyrs. They say that at night he plays charanga for the grave of souls. They have given him the name of a guerrilla. His followers and friends on the other side of life call him Father Dallonses, “the dream charmer”.
Through dialogues between the protagonist (the author of the book himself) and the priest, the daily life of the city of Reus in recent years is presented. Although it is fiction, with his characteristic wry vision, the author gives a glimpse of some of the joys and sorrows that the citizens of Baix Camp have experienced.
With a fun and even irreverent, flat and light-hearted style, Don't Touch Me, the Picarols presents us with several stories that will make you smile with the appearance of a whole series of real and fictional characters well-known to everyone.
Father Dallonses, the “Lady” and the tenant of apartment sixty-nine are part of the author's own family lineage, with whom he has played with frank harmony and healthy fun.
