Throughout history, the city of Reus has seen the birth of famous figures such as the universal architect Antoni Gaudí, the painter Marià Fortuny, the sculptor Joan Rebull or the general Joan Prim, among others, who have allowed it to count on a heritage of modernist buildings and a range of activities and cultural facilities of the first order.

Nearly eighty cataloged buildings make up a spectacular showcase of modernist architecture, the work of architects such as Lluís Domènech i Montaner and Pere Caselles and Joan Rubió i Bellver, among others. The Modernist Route makes it easy to visit and learn about these jewels, among which stand out the Pere Mata Institute or the Navàs, Rull and Gasull houses, all works by Domènech i Montaner, considered one of the best architects of European Modernism.

Reus also preserves the memory of the genius Antoni Gaudí, from his birthplace to the places he frequented in his childhood and adolescence before leaving for Barcelona. In this sense, in 2007, the city inaugurated the ambitious project of Gaudí Center, an innovative interpretation space of the life and work of one of the most universal Catalans, the architect Antoni Gaudí. It is a new generation cultural tourism facility, located in the center of the city, where you can interactively understand the keys to Gaudi's architecture and discover the personality of the genius and his connection with Reus and the environment that inspired him his work In addition, the space also exhibits a selection of the artist's projects and personal objects that are accompanied by audiovisual presentations.  

Reus is also a true epicenter of cultural life, which extends throughout the whole year through the greater feasts of Sant Pere (declared Traditional Festival of National Interest) i mercy and the festivals of different artistic disciplines (music, dance, cinema, mime, poetry...), among which stands out the Trapezi, the Catalan circus fair, which every May floods the streets and squares of the city with tens of thousands of spectators, and the Reus International Mime and Gestual Theater Festival Cart.

The theaters of Reus, venues that are coordinated to offer intense, multidisciplinary and quality programming, are the other backbone of the city's cultural life, with the emblematic theaters Fortuny and Bartrina, two architectural jewels built by the bourgeoisie of Reus at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Reus is the capital of Vermouth. In the last century, Reus Vermouth was exported halfway around the world and the industry continues today, consolidating a tradition with its own brand.

The consolidated commercial tradition and a varied gastronomic offer make Reus a place to enjoy with all the senses.
