The Casal de Joves La Palma has prepared a program for the month of March full of activities, especially designed for teenagers and young people looking for meeting spaces, creative activities, practical training and opportunities to train. The program is free and combines workshops, exhibitions, cooking activities, spaces for reflection and proposals linked to the 8M.

This March, the Youth Space of the Youth Center will also be expanded by one day, which will take place on Monday and Thursday afternoons. “It is a stable meeting point for young people aged 12 to 17 who want to share concerns, make friends and participate in activities designed together, and we wanted to strengthen it because we consider it to be a space of reference, coexistence and personal growth”, highlighted Daniel Marcos, Councilor for Youth. Throughout the different sessions, the bond between the participants will be worked on, collectively defining which topics interest them and which activities they want to promote.

The March program also stands out for its wide variety of creative workshops and thematic activities. On March 4, the Casal de Joves will host a dessert and sweets workshop for teenagers, while the NEXES space will offer a feminist memes workshop that invites you to explore humor as a critical and transformative tool.

On March 10, the Cultivant Reus project proposes a workshop to decorate turrets by hand, combining nature and creativity. As part of the 8M, the Casal de Joves organizes the workshop “Lilac Cooking”, where all the dishes will be prepared with foods of this color, such as beetroot or Lombard cabbage. Other activities of the month include an intergenerational petanque session with the Club d'Horts d'en Simó; the workshop “Weaving feminisms”, also proposed by NEXES, and various practical and healthy cooking activities for young people, on Wednesday afternoons in the weekly cooking class.

Culture and awareness also play a prominent role. On March 11th and 12th, the Cal Massó Art Center hosts the exhibition Oxigen, an exhibition that highlights the experiences of emotional distress in adolescence that can be visited freely. On March 20, Vapor Vell Street, within the framework of the Street Gallery, will be the setting for the inauguration of Fragments of humanity, a photographic exhibition by Omar Moreno, from the NGO La Veu entre Cultures, which denounces racial discrimination through portraits and testimonies.

Regarding administrative and employment support, the Casal de Joves La Palma will offer a support session on March 5 to complete procedures and digital certificates, aimed at young people aged 16 to 30. On March 24, the same facility will host a specific activity to help young people prepare to find work for the summer, organized by the Employment and Academic Orientation Service of the Baix Camp Youth Office. On the same day, the Boca de la Mina Agricultural Garden is offering a work day in the youth garden, where participants will be able to grow and harvest seasonal vegetables.

During Easter, the Casal de Joves will also have a special program. From March 30 to April 2, it will offer a morning camp for young people aged 12 to 16, as well as a premonitory course for adolescents aged 15 to 17, with a symbolic cost of 5 euros. In parallel, the civic centers of the neighborhoods will host cooking workshops for young people every afternoon, and the Casal de Joves will offer a first aid course on April 1 and a food handler course on April 2.

The Pere Anguera Library keeps its Punt Jove active every Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with activities that combine learning Catalan with board games, non-discrimination workshops, badge creation and a special fabric activity at the Giny.

All activities —except the premonitor course— are free and are designed to encourage youth participation, offer safe and enriching spaces and respond to the needs and interests of young people in Reus.
