Carrer de Sant Vicenç, 4 Reus

Tel.: 977 010 670

The architect Antoni Gaudí was born in this house on June 25, 1852 and lived there during his childhood and youth in Reus with his parents, Francesc Gaudí i Serra, and Antònia Cornet i Bertran. The house was owned by the maternal family and on the ground floor was the boiler workshop of his maternal grandfather. As he himself stated: "I am the son, grandson and great-grandson of boilermakers". Gaudí always claimed this family craft as the origin of his personal vision and understanding of space in three dimensions. The house remained in the hands of the family until 1878. It is currently a private property and cannot be visited.
